well, here’s something you don’t see every day.
me, in joggers. you see, i’ve always had this weird mindset when it comes to joggers. i’ve just never liked the way they looked. so much so that i only wore converses for so many years of my school sporting life! but, since everyone has been wearing groovy nikes and looking, well, groovy, i have decided to attempt this groove. i found these
groovy good looking sneakers at the Stella McCartney for Adidas store in miami. if i had known at that stage how much money was in my bank account, i probably wouldn’t have walked out with them. nevertheless, i was naive and wi-fi-less, so they are here and they are on my feet. i guess they are pretty sporty. like, i will wear them running (one day) but i somehow feel like the colour and the pattern makes them that much more fashion-y, and therefore acceptable for normal non-sport wear. i think i need to give this sport-chic look another go, in those times when i want to put on the old faithful all stars! but they are particularly more supported / bouncy / comfortable than my converses! those are my thoughts.
to doing things you never thought you would (even if it is only in relation to footwear)…

well hello there!
it has been quite some time since my last post. i have been galavanting around on holiday. there are so many great things that i have seen on my travels and places and people that i experienced. new york was just plain cool. (also literally.) i’ve never had to dress for -11 degrees before. and for a perth-livin gal like me, winter coats aren’t something we tend to stock up on. so let me guide you through a day of getting dressed… you would need some sort of long sleeve top for extra insulation under your blouse, then a jumper over the top with a potential jacket, and once you had decided you looked cute in whatever combination you could make out of your already worn clothing, you put the same coat /scarf / beanie combo over the top every day, and therefore looked the same as you did the past 2 weeks! it was definitely an experience. one that i’d like to have again! i will do a whole post on my trip soon with picos and everything.
this dress i got from the urban outfitters store. it wasn’t on sale when i bought it, but it is now on the website. cool hey. love it when they happens. anyway it’s a plus for any of you lovely folk hoping to purchase. i love the shoestring strap back, and obviously, the leopard. i think it’s groovy how versatile this kind of dress is. if i were wearing heels it would suddenly become a more slinky night time extravaganza, but i like the cool dude vibe it gives with the converse. add a little zebra striped belt and a brand new miu miu bag and you’re pretty much ready to go anywhere. but seriously. how awesome is my new bag. (on sale. soho.)
i’ll be posting pics of all my purchases soon. yay! i love them!

merry boxing day everyone.
i hope you’re reading this as your curled in to a ball from your christmas induced food coma! i have meant to be speedy this morning but i think the turkey and the ham are weighing me down. this is my last post from australia for a while. woohoo. today’s the day. bella and i are leaving on a jet plane to be united with our love, new york! i will be posting plenty from there while we are away. holidays seems to be the best time to blog because you have so much time do it!!
in other topics such as the clothing appearing here, this t-shirt was free. some of you may have recognised it straight away. now, i was really battling with myself whether or not i should wear it. you see, the other day i saw a girl wearing it, and i’m going to be honest, i immediately thought ‘lol, that shirt is form a magazine.’ so when i put it on, i thought the same thing about myself! my second thought was though, ‘this shirt looks totally rad with this outfit. who cares if it was free!’ and so here we are, repping the free mag t-shirt. at least people know i’m in to fashion magazines. that makes me slight cooler, right? so i say, if you like it – wear it!
see you in new york soon!
every year my sisters and i tend to go through the same debacle – finding the right christmas dress.
perhaps that’s dramatic. perhaps it’s just christmas with your friends and family and no one really cares what you wear. or perhaps it’s one of the most special and delightful days with more than usual photographers around!
i feel the pressure of my aunty’s camera phones (ricci!) and the candid shots that haunt you as you are stuffing your face with turkey. so, in an attempt to keep the sepcial feeling of the day, and look semi-decent while devouring various foods, my family definitely put in a certain amount of effort when it comes to the christmas outfit. this dress here is from zimmermann, and was my christmas dress last year. unfortunately with my trip to new york i have held back on purchasing a new dress this year and will be hoping to find a gem at the back of my wardrobe. however, last year’s dress was a winner. pretty, shapely, but totally practical. let me tell you my top three essential details when picking a christmas dress:
1. a good shape from all angles! this is something we mostly look for in clothing anyway, but christmas is one of those photos from every angle kind of days and you want to make sure you don’t just look good from the front, but the back too (also any other possible angle your technologically challenged relatives could get to with their phones!) although you can’t see it in the photo, this dress has a low back and caused for a great reaction as i was seen from behind.
2. allow for stomach expansion! as this day you will probably consume your weeks worth of calories, it is wise to wear something that will allow you to eat to your hearts desire without having to tense your stomach muscles the whole day. something that comes in at the waist and poofs straight out generally allows for that lower belly to fully release. stay away from the body-con!
3. make you feel pretty! with the amount of mariah carey christmas carols that are played in my household, we are well and truly in to the christmas spirit before even dressing for the day. i don’t know about you, but christmas makes me think of summer fun! it’s literally a day that the whole world stops and spends together, which is actually pretty amazing when you think about the entire globe doing the same thing at the same time! i know i am an elf. a lame old christmas elf spreading christmas cheer. but it feels so special to me and that’s exactly how i want to look! so lace, florals, sparkles, jewels, they all add to the beauty of the day! (the bow belt on this dress also makes me feel like a present – which is awesome.)
so, i wish you all the success in the world when choosing your christmas attire this year. enjoy your family and friends and FOOD! for me, it’s just another day to celebrate how blessed we are to live in a country like australia and have the family and friends that we have! thank you god for bringing your son in to the world and giving me (and many others) hope and peace and joy! yay! i like those things!
