t.shirt: Singapore (the real thing here)
loving these shoes guys.
i found this t shirt while shopping down singapore’s haji lane last year. it’s one of those givenchy inspired (rip off) printed t-shirts. various celebs (most of the gangsta persuasion) have been seen sporting givenchy tees for some time. really, any cool printed shirt with plain ol leather shorts is a pretty winning combo. this is the kind of thing i would wear to those in-between occasions. like a birthday lunch, or something of that dressy yet casual nature. that’s also why i have been obsessed with my new shoes. (insert love-heart-eyed smiley face.)
so i’m off to new york in 2 weeks. waaaaah. crazy i know. i am, i will say, slightly apprehensive about the cold weather. i’ve heard mixed reviews. some saying the cold won’t affect you and you will get on just fine, and others saying i may get hypothermia. so i think i just need to be prepared. but ah! snow! it will be the first time i have seen it since i was 3 – so the first time really experiencing it. prepare for some rather wintery-wonderland-type blog posts! on another note, i am quite enjoying the colour of my hair at the mo. i couldn’t hold down the blonde, and it was too dark when mum died it “back”, and right now, i am enjoying the ombre ranger gold kind of highlight thing that is happening. can’t wait to get my hair done in NY, but for now i am actually quite pleased, which is always always a good feeling.

the other day i went shopping with noni, ready to spend (goodness knows why, i am meant to be saving!) but after so many failed attempts at buying a pair of boyfriend jeans (the search still continues) or dressy-casual shoes, we found ourselves at the supre warehouse store. it was actually the best decision we made all day, and despite only having 10 minutes until the store closed, i managed to leave that place with 5 items in hand, all for a grand total of $25! i was amazed that everything fit so well! isn’t it ironic, i’ve been there many times before and taken about 50 million things in to the change room and only come away with maybe 1 thing that fits properly, yet i go with 10 minutes and don’t try one thing on and they’re all great. silly. silliness of life. now, these shoes however were not such a fast or cheap experience. but, i really do love them. i think they were the perfect balance of dressy-casual that i was looking for. normally i don’t find myself really drawn to the ankle strap, just because it can really cut my little legs off, yet the double strap on these manage to somehow keep my legs at a reasonable length. that or i’m blinded by how much i like them. have no doubt you will see them appear again.
in other news, maddy and i are going to do a 30 day challenge coming up. they (whoever they are) say it takes 30 days to form a habit, so we are looking to blog every day for 30 days and hopefully by then we will be well and truly in the swing of things to blog every day for the rest of our lives! well, for a while. we will see how that goes. hopefully it goes nothing like the detox we recently embarked on. 7 days managed to shrink down to 1… i know, where is our self control? well you try eating fruit for 24 hours and see how much you just WANT A PEICE OF BREAD. wow. okay, i swear i’m over it. news on detox, diet, and other food related things coming to CASA soon!

the big w jeans make their second [bog] appearance. impressive for $10. they have served me well, unlike some others. remember my boyfriend-ish jeans from a couple of posts ago? well, they totally ripped like crazy to the point of no repair, and i had to return them. i was so disappointed because i so liked them, and i am now left with a light, distressed, nicely tapered, boyfriend jean shaped hole in my heart. so let the search recommence. i will keep you informed on my findings. back to this current post – it was definitely something a little different for me. i think my best intentions were totally there, but somehow the execution just wasn’t great. really to the point that i probably will never wear this ensemble again in this exact state. this could also be partly due to the state of my hair this day. it was pretty dirty. like, pretty dirty. but you do the best with what you can, and that was it.
to conclude, i don’t think it was a complete disaster, but definitely a good trial run. i think i was kind of going for that cool street style at Paris fashion week sort of thing (in my backyard) kind of like this or this. i know, it’s nothing like either. but at least i didn’t look like this. in saying this, i do quite like myself a bit of kim kardashian style, so for redemptions sake, a photo of kim doing all white beautifully. i’ll be back to revise this look at some stage. in the meantime, plenty of colour.

new philosophy on life: when life gives you lemons, take a summery blog post.
so i haven’t worn these jeans in aaages. i think the key is to wear a smaller top with it. in the past i have looked oversized myself rather than my clothing. so i do think it can be a little tricky to pull off. it would seem you just have to be a tall bean and then you can wear anything and it will just hang off you, but in my case (and a lot of other peoples) i don’t have this luxury. sometimes i think i have to work way too hard to get a certain style or garment to work on me! it’s annoying.
one thing that i do like to do in order to give me a little confidence, slim me down and allow me to think that i can actually wear whatever the heck i want, is to fake tan. i must say it’s something that i do fairly well because it’s never really too obvious that i have fake tanned. but i think i am going to go through a bit of trial period and just try out all the best tans on the market until i find my perfectly natural, non-smelly, non-sheet-staining, long-lasting, golden colour. i don’t know, maybe it doesn’t exist. regardless, i will keep you informed of my search results. loving that this weather is warming up and i get to throw dinner parties and fun warm evening activities at my cribbb! i’m a little bit sad that i’m missing 5 weeks of summer, but not really. new york is going to be SO GOOD. anyway, it’s 2am and i’m asleep on my keyboard as i type this. so i’m going to leave before i say some too grammatically incorrect.
to the start of spring/summer!
