Jacket: LIVING DOLL
Dress: SPORTSGIRL
Shoes: CONVERSE

My apologies for the title. But, leather jackets are cool. They just are. I feel as though a leather jacket can be worn with any outfit, ever. Even when you’re posing in front of a senior’s lawn bowls club at sunset…

So, this dress is like a big sack and I really thought I wasn’t going to wear it because, don’t get me wrong, I love loose clothing and anything that allows me to stick my stomach out without it being noticed (ample food-baby space), but this was a little too far. I’m thinking of taking the hem up so I can wear it with a belt or just as a short loose sack. But I was playing around with it and seeing how I could wear it, and the knot thing seemed to work quite well. I actually bunched it all together and tied it with a hair band on the inside of the dress. The knot on the outside was a lil too bulbous! All you need is a rubber band and voila! A brand new dress that fits around yo little curves perfectly.

I’m not sure if anyone has noticed, but previously I enjoyed writing my blog posts all in lower case. There is some little side of my OCD that made myself believe that the sentences looked better when they were all on one level. That somehow starting with a capitol letter and not ending with a capitol letter was not symmetrical, and therefore not okay. On the other side of my OCD is the need for things to be at least somewhat grammatically correct and, well it’s time that I grow up and write with capitol letters where appropriate like the rest of the adult world. (Plus I was starting to write everything in lower case at work and that wasn’t really flying with the clients.) So, here I am, with all my start and stop sentences, made up words, and gangster abreviations, yet writing like a real adult.

summertime casualness

Outfits,  Summer

i often feel with summer, there is this certain unspoken law of casualness that we all seem to apply to in our dressing. it could be an australian thing, or a perth thing. or maybe it’s all in my mind. regardless, i find myself always opting for the casual options. shorts, t-shirts, little cotton dresses and sandals. it’s like we think it’s too hot to be getting dressed up. that being said, i’m not complaining. one of my ultimate favourite outfits is a good oversized tee and a pair of shorts. exhibit a:

1 2 4 6 3 5 7

t-shirt: MLM Label
shorts: Scanlan and Theodore
belt: Clover
shoes: ASOS
nails: Mecca Cosmetica ‘Phrynia’
glasses: Zero UV

when you find a good cut in a tee or a pair of shorts, you just get so much use out of them! i think it’s the cut of things that really makes the difference in being well dressed and not. in an attempt to be slightly less casual, opting for a more structured pair of shorts, or basically anything that’s not denim is the way to go. these scanlan shorts are pretty darn awesome though, and they’re purple…

i just want to talk about hair for a moment. there is a hugely overwhelming sense of, i-want-to-cut-my-hair coming over me! but my lovely boyfy likes my hair long. so do i. but i think i’m using his love for my long hair as an excuse for keeping it growing! so I’m thinking i go for a significant cut, but still keeping it short? then i think about how it’s summertime, and my hair looks so much better when i’ve been swimming if it’s long! the length of it weighs down the poodleness of it slightly. also seeing rosie hungtington-whitely’s new do has altered my perspective once again, although, she is a blonde supermodel, which i am not, so i probably shouldn’t be making too many decisions based off her actions… thoughts?

liner and lips

Makeup

sup ya’ll.

we all want to look a bit hollywood and glam sometimes (or in my case every second day), so here is a video demonstrating the way i do a liquid liner and red lip. pretty much it’s that classic fifties look. it always works. i will say though, that there are many different eye shapes in this world. some lids are more hooded than others, and some are more open with hardly any crease. so don’t be discouraged if you find this hard, or your liner doesn’t have the exact same finish as mine. i will share a little more indepth on eye shapes and liner that suits different eye shapes soon. in the meantime enjoy this video. hopefully it is helpful in creating that fifties pin-up, winged liner and red lip look! my fave!
