foodstagram – ep 2

Food,  Life and Love,  Mi Casa

yo yo yo wassup. long time no speak. crazy what’s happened since october. wait. what. october you say? that’s right.. october. my bad. doing exams and graduating from high school understandably is time consuming, but holiday season should be no excuse for the absence, (considering I’ve been plonked on my bed, all day everyday doing nothing but flipping through the instagram-tumblr-facebook-twitter-pinterest cycle of life. terrible, I know) but well, that’s exactly my excuse. literally been holidaying from all aspects of my life except social media and the occasional shift at work or dip in the pool. dani however is literally on holiday, and frolicking around disney world as we speak. but lets not dwell on that magical thought for too long, we may get jealous.

as the title suggests, it’s foodstagram time! and it’s making me hungry..

Foodstagram – Ep 1

Food,  Life and Love

if you’ve ever flicked through my instagram feed you’ll see 3 recurring themes: way too many sky shots, beautiful blooms, and of course… FOOD. the combination of photography and my favourite things is so enticing. pretty much if instagramming was a job, it would be my dream.

what you see is true – my life is surrounded by tastiness. i can’t escape it.

i’ll blame it on my dad. the man who’ll cook for hours on end to produce some delicious, exotic, and extravagant meal, that’s gone in no time at all. being overfed from a young age has had it’s downfalls (mostly in the form of love handles), but my love-hate relationship with food is a never ending story. food is a beautiful thing though really, which is why sometimes I can get carried away into this fantastical world of food creation. i love it. i hope you love it too.

hi. so there was a great part of my friday. i went to the city and caught up with my friend dave, and we ate great food and took photos as the day turned goregously sunny. firstly was sushi at aisuru in northbridge. i love firstly how black and white the space is, but also how they include trendy new flavours in to the sushi that make it a crafty blend of modern and traditional jap. this was followed by some photos in alleyways and other curious spaces (thank you, david). and finished with some chai and cookie at venn. a place i’d heard of but never been to. it’s a crazy hybrid empire of homewares, food, drink and art, which really impressed me. above you can see me instagramming a photo. something i seem to be brilliant at. instagram. if you’re interested, my user name is simply danielleosullivan. i’m pretty darn good at updating that thing.
so i’ve realised that many things i put on my blog tend to be ‘blog outfits’ where i don’t include my absolute every day wear items. so here’s a little taste of how i tend to look most days. i could live in jeans and converses. and fun tshirts are just fun. also i’m trying out a new way of telling you what i’m wearing. instead of including it in my word jungle i will make it loud and clear at the top. also will include links to these various garments wherever i can.

Food,  Life and Love,  Makeup

This weekend my friends and I went to breakfast at Greenhouse restaurant in the city on St Georges Terrace. The setting was amazing, and let’s be honest, I felt like a little indie girl sitting on the raw looking wooden chairs, eating organic products, and taking condiments out of tiny square jars. I did like my breakfast, although the crust of the bread was practically a rock and I seriously struggled to the point where I just cut it all off and left it on the side of my plate – how childish of me, I know! Anyway, here are a few photos. I did slightly battle with the exposure in a few of them resulting in a really slow shutter speed and therefore blurry photos – it happens…

We decided to leave once we saw people beginning to order for lunch. So Rachel and I tried to go op shopping – only semi successful, and a lot more expensive than desired. And I found some lovely leopard sandals by RMK. Sure to be seen soon. Here is an awkward and rather failing attempt at taking photos in the mirror amongst bustling David Jones shoppers.

Got home only to leave immediately and take my little sister to find some sort of present/costume for her friends Alice in Wonderland party. We thought perhaps white queen as I had already made a dress for that, but unfortunately she’s almost indigenous so the whole ‘white’ part didn’t really work. We settled at the rabbit and after a large debate over having a nose and whiskers I finally convinced her. Let’s be honest – she looks nothing like the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland, but she looks darn cute.
